Our Club

Our club was chartered on 24 October 2007 as the Rotary Club of Coomera Midday. Since that time we have adopted the name Coomera River to better reflect our local area and change in the timing and flexibility of our meetings.

Coomera is a suburb of the rapidly growing Northern Gold Coast region in South East Queensland. The name Coomera comes from the word kumera, the name of a species of wattle in the language of the local indigeneous, Yugambeh people. The southern boundary of Coomera is the Coomera River.

Being a rapidly growing suburb, and one with many young working families, there are many schools in our area. A number of our members have an education link or background and this is partly reflected in the focus of the projects and organisations we support.

We are a relatively small, but diverse club made up of small business owners, professionals and those not in the active workforce. We hold regular club meetings which are casual and encourage fellowship but also allow us to plan and organise fund raising and service opportunities.
